HEARTS OF COLD - REDEMPTION - EPISODE 1 - THE LEAVING

OVERVIEW

How To Play

Hearts Of Cold is a story driven, Open World, First Person-Third Person Shooter with a Touch of Stealth and Adventure. Set in a wide range of varied environments comprising of 27 playable levels of fast paced, intensive action interspersed with moments of calm and opportunity to simply take a break and enjoy the environments and take a look around.

Most Civilian Characters will have something to say and some will provide helpful or important advice or information to support the Storyline or guide you along your journey with instructions or directions, so be sure to check out what they have to say.

Many Civilians will also support and protect you and attack those hostile to you. They are your Friends so try not to hurt them. If you shoot at them they are not likely to attack you but they are difficult to kill and you will just waste valuable ammunition which will be vital to your success.

Allies in the game will provide invaluable game play support so be sure to take them with you wherever possible.

There are sufficient Weapons, Health and Ammo scattered throughout levels to complete each level. Be sure to check out all locations and do not bypass any. Most buildings and other structures will contain some of one or the other, though not all so do check out all locations and dont leave any behind. Some items may just be found in the general environment outside of structures so keep your eyes open for them. Some Crates or Boxes will contain Health or Ammo. You can shoot them or use a Knife Weapon if you have one to break them open. Health or Ammo can sometimes be found inside a cupboard or similar or inside an open crate so be sure to check them out.

Always try and keep your Health and Ammo fully loaded so you don't get caught lacking of them when needed.

There are a variety of Weapons in the game and each will have differing capabilities which may vary from level to level depending on whats needed. e.g. damage amount or range. So too the amount of Health and Ammo available in each level will differ depending upon need. In most instances Health will regenerate to a specific value in each case which may be able to be topped up to a maximum variable in each level. Thus at the start of each level you will need to collect Weapons, Ammo and top up Health to any max allowed appropriate to the level. e.g. When a Sniper Rifle is likely to be needed you will find one. Of course you can continue to collect Weapons, Health and Ammo along the way when found. In some levels Health and Ammo may be in short supply with not much to spare, so don't waste any shooting wildly at all and sundry for the sake of it.

There are a lot of different game play scenarios in the game and in some cases it would be best to proceed with caution and some stealth, in others an agressive and full on attack may be best employed. If you find the Game hard to complete then you can use the help of your allies or any civilian helpers while you "hide" but thats cheating. Go on Go For It! In some Levels you may be on your own so you will have no option but to do just that and use whatever approoach is needed to complete a level. Every level can be completed and there is sufficient resources for the Player to do so if the Player uses them wisely and approaches the level with some thought and logic of how to "Win" where enemies are difficult to overcome. There is always a way.

Some in game items are a special case : The Player has an in game Inventory and some items can be collected and stored there for later retrieval and use. e.g. Health and Ammo. On approach these items will display a Text Message above the item which indicates they can be added to the Inventory. Press F to pick them up and place them there.  If you point at them from further away and below the text message a pickup hand icon will display indicating you can collect them as normal pick ups and use them immediately so you have two choices for storing/using them.

There is a Placeable Mine the Player can collect. Be careful when approaching any Mines. A Placeable Mine can be added to the Inventory which is best but can also be collected for immediate use. Be aware that a Placeable Mine is one special case where caution is required. They have an 30 second Explosive Timer function which is activated upon contact. Once activated a Placeable Mine light will turn Red at which time you dont want to be near it or it could be fatal. You can safely collect them by the Inventory pickup Method for later use from the Inventory. Then on placing them in the level where you need them to be : activate them and move well away as they will explode in 30 seconds. If you need to collect one for immediate use then once activated you have just 30 seconds to collect one and place it before moving well away from it. They are rare and you are advised to Keep at least 1 in the Inventory until they are needed for a specific sceneario when instructed by the game to use them. If you have none then you may have difficulty completing a part of the Game where they are needed. There are other Explosive items you can use.

Special Case Items Explosive Barrels or other : These are very rare. When approacing them a PickUp/Grab Hand  Icon will display indicating you can pick one up and Carry It around. Press B to Grab the item and carry it to the location required and drop it.
